Within the program students will acquire a wide theoretical knowledge about key qualities of existence and development of society, of social structures and institutes, about challenges and future trends of modern society.

Students will acquire a basic knowledge of methodology of sociological theories and research and will be able to conduct empirical social research by applying the methodology.

On the fourth stage the program is broken into three modules which allows students to deepen their knowledge as they find appropriate. These modules include: sociology of communication, social changes in the modern world, social institutes.

Admission Requirement

 

Individuals having completed a secondary education are eligible for enrolling in the program. The pre-condition for enrollment in the Bachelor’s program is passing the WAEC, NECO or NATEB. Compulsory subjects to be taken are: Mathematics and Physics, while elective subjects can include: Chemistry/Geography /English language and Civil Studies. Any exception from the rules of enrollment shall be allowed only in the cases prescribed by the legislation.
